 One or Two-day Seminar - Engineers and Their Calculations

 The two-day seminar looks at how to develop your calculations, design your spreadsheets and programme your databases. The seminar covers: 

  • Microsoft Word 2003 to construct the planned calculations/reports
  • Microsoft Excel f2003 or better spreadsheets designed for the future
  • Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro
 Learning Outcomes
  • Create calculations in half the time
  • Transformed attitudes towards calculations and discovery of renewed enthusiasm
  • Improved competencies in computer skills, especially MS Office 2003
  • Understand the building blocks to better calculations
  • Build spreadsheets to engineering standards 
  • Know how and when to use VBA macros 

  Achievement of the learning outcomes will be assessed through forums, class discussions and review of case studies. Attendees are invited to submit their work for review by Dr. Robert Mote to demonstrate improved understanding. They will also receive a certificate for attending the course, verifying continuing professional development.

 
Each participant will also receive a copy of The Engineer's Word and The Engineer’s Tables, written by Dr. Robert Mote.
